Voting by post
Anyone can ask for a postal vote to be sent to them at the time of an election.
You can ask for a postal vote for all elections or for a particular election date only.
Postal ballot papers can be sent to your home address or a different address either in the UK or abroad e.g. a university or work address.
Postal ballot papers are sent by first class post about 10 working days before the election date. You must return the postal vote to the Returning Officer by 10pm on election day.
