Carton recycling banks now in Waterloo car park
Release date: 3 October 2017
Cotswold District Council has installed two recycling banks for used cartons (Tetrapaks) in the Waterloo Car Park in Cirencester.
The Council recently learned that the banks were being removed from the Tesco store at Kings Meadow and ensured that they were relocated to another site convenient for local residents.
Cllr Sue Coakley, CDC Cabinet Member for Environment, comments:
“When we heard that these carton recycling banks were being withdrawn from the Tesco site, we acted swiftly to relocate them to the Waterloo Car Park. They are now situated alongside the CDC-owned recycling banks at the car park and I am sure that they will be used regularly.
“Tesco Kings Meadow recently withdrew their entire range of recycling banks following misuse by fly tippers. It is unfortunate that Tesco no longer provides recycling banks at Kings Meadow, but I can assure residents that all of our CDC-owned recycling facilities will continue to be in use.”
