Supporting children and families

Cotswold District is home to lots of families and children. We work with partners through our Children and Families partnership to provide opportunities such as holiday activities, but also give support for when things aren’t going so well. Please see below for further details.

Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme

The Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme is funded by the Department of Education, with strict guidelines on eligibility. HAF can only be offered to those in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. We and our local partners have been delivering this programme since 2021 and each year we receive positive feedback from families about the activities we offer. The programme is due to finish in 2025.

We understand all children and young people can benefit from a programme like HAF, which is why where possible we will endeavour to secure extra funding to extend the offer of activities to all families.
