Clean and Green Cotswolds
The Cotswolds we know and love is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and we want to keep it that way. Keeping the Cotswolds clean and green is something we are passionate about at Cotswold District Council, but we know we can’t do it alone. The Clean and Green Cotswolds initiative aims to bring together the work of the District Council, our partners and our communities to make things even better.
The initiative is designed to bring people together to take action to maintain and improve the fantastic environment we have in the district. Whether it is removing and reducing litter or improving our public spaces, we want to work with people across the Cotswolds to keep our area clean and green.
We know there are already some brilliant individuals and groups in the Cotswolds doing great things in the community, but we need to encourage and enable more people to do the right thing; to play their part and make where they live a brighter and more attractive place. We know this is something many people are passionate about and through this project we can come together as a community to protect our environment and keep the Cotswolds clean and green.
Working with our Clean and Green Officers
Our Clean and Green Officers act as a critical link between the Council and communities, helping them to improve their local environments so that they are attractive, safe, clean and inviting places to live and visit.
The officers are on-hand to advise community groups, Parish and Town Councils and members of the public who want to take a more active role in looking after their neighbourhoods. We may even be able to help out with a little bit of funding.
If you have an idea for an interesting project, initiative, campaign or educational programme or just want some advice on a persistent issue that you have with things like fly-tipping, vandalism, littering or dog fouling you can get in touch with our officers by calling 01285 623000 or emailing ers@cotswold.gov.uk.
Voluntary Litter Picking
Volunteer litter picking and community clean-up events are a great way for you to play your part. To help make this happen we've purchased and distributed litter picking equipment, tabards and sacks to the town and parish councils who took up our offer of support.
Contact your town or parish council to see if they can help you with equipment - you can find the details for your parish council from the hub list below.

Reporting issues in your community
We know that our residents lead busy lives and it can be inconvenient to make calls about problems in your area. We have a dedicated page where you can quickly and easily report issues like fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, full litter or dog poo bins, graffiti, littering and dead animals.
To report any of these, please visit our Report it pages or message us on Twitter or Facebook. Messages received on the weekend or in the evening will be dealt with on the next working day.
