Retrofit Engagement Scheme
Making your home fit for the future - what can we do to help?
Gloucestershire has won funding from the Southwest Net Zero Hub and UKSPF (Shared Prosperity Fund) for three Retrofit Engagement Officers to work with homeowners across the area to provide advice on identifying and initiating energy efficiency improvements. Support will initially focus on Cotswold District, Cheltenham Borough and the Forest of Dean. However, if there is proven demand, the service may be extended across all districts.
Retrofit is the industry term for making energy efficiency improvements to your home, which will also reduce carbon emissions. It can involve adding insulation to your loft, walls and floors, upgrading windows and doors, and improving services such as heating, hot water and lighting. It also includes fitting renewable energy systems such as solar PV and batteries.
Improvements should lower energy bills, make your home healthier, warmer and more comfortable to live in, and support the country’s journey to Net Zero. The scheme is open to anyone who lives within the three districts. We are very keen to hear your views and understanding of retrofit and would like you to complete the survey below. We would especially like to know if there is anything that is preventing you from taking that first step.
Responses can be anonymous but if you would like tailored advice from our retrofit engagement officer, Justine Mallinson, please opt-in for contact by leaving your name, phone number and/or email address.
