Lasting Legacy: sharing memories
Between now and 2028, when Cotswold District Council and the other Gloucestershire councils are expected to be replaced by a new unitary council structure, the Council is focused on delivering its strategic priorities and creating a lasting legacy for the district.
Over the coming years, we will document the work being undertaken to ensure the Cotswold district is in the strongest possible position ahead of Local Government Reorganisation.
To mark this important period of change, Cotswold District Council is launching Lasting Legacy — a project that will reflect on, celebrate, and preserve the Council’s achievements, as well as recognise the people, communities, and partners who have helped shape them.
Through Lasting Legacy, we will share stories, milestones, and successes that highlight the Council’s contribution to the district and its residents, ensuring these achievements are remembered long after the transition to the new council structure.
Since 1974, thousands of staff, councillors, partners and communities have helped build the district we know today. Through this project, we want to capture stories, memories and moments that reflect that shared history.
We are inviting current and former staff, partners and residents to share their experiences — whether that is a project you were proud to be part of, a change you helped deliver, or a memory that has stayed with you. Photos and videos are also very welcome.
Together, these contributions will form a lasting record of Cotswold District Council’s legacy as the district prepares for its next chapter.
