Local Plan independent examination hearings now underway

Release date: 5 October 2017

The dates scheduled for the independent examination of the Cotswold District Local Plan are as follows:

Tuesday 10 October - Thursday 12 October

Tuesday 17 October – Thursday 19 October

Tuesday 14 November – Thursday 16 November

Tuesday 21 November – Thursday 23 November

(NOTE: Wednesday 22 November and Thursday 23 November are currently reserved for matters not completed earlier).

The person appointed to carry out the independent examination is William Fieldhouse BA MA MRTPI.

Hearing sessions for each day will normally run from 9.30 am until 1 pm and then 2 pm until 5 pm and they will take place in the Council Chamber at Trinity Road, Cirencester, GL7 1PX.

As they are public events, anyone is entitled to attend the sessions in order to observe.  However, it would be helpful if you could notify the Programme Officer in advance which sessions you would like to attend as an observer.

Only those who have made representations seeking changes to the Plan, or the Focussed Changes, have the legal right to appear before, and be heard by, the Inspector.  It is important to stress that written representations carry the same weight as those made orally at a Hearing session,. This means that participation at a Hearing session is only necessary if you have specific points that you wish to make in response to a particular matter.

Further information is available on the following website: /residents/planning-building/planning-policy/emerging-local-plan/local-plan-examination/

For any contact with the Inspector or for queries relating to the Hearing please contact Tracey Smith, the independent Programme Officer for the examination:

A separate, brief, examination will deal with the Community Infrastructure Levy draft charging schedule on 5 December 2017.
