Retrofit and Energy Efficiency

Retrofit Guidance for Traditional and Listed Buildings

Cotswold District Council has declared a climate and ecological emergency because of our changing climate. Therefore, to help building owners and tenants improve the energy efficiency and climate resilience of their buildings, the Local Planning Authority has produced some guidance specifically for listed buildings, buildings located in a conservation area and those which are traditionally built.

This guidance aims to provide a general introduction to the topic, highlighting key points to consider when considering making energy efficiency and climate adaptation improvements to a building, and to provide guidance about where to go for good quality, independent advice, as well as where to find suitably qualified tradespersons.

This is part of an ongoing project, where the Local Planning Authority will review and update its guidance.

A glossary has been produced to go along side this guidance. Words that are included in the glossary will be highlighted in bold throughout the following pages.
