Cotswold District Council covers an area of 450 square miles of Gloucestershire and has some of the most spectacular natural landscape and built heritage in the country.

We are a team of over 50 people based in Cirencester delivering Cotswold District Council's Planning Service which includes the Building Control, Development Management and Planning Enforcement, Natural, Built and Historic Environment and the Planning Policy and Infrastructure Teams. We see a high-quality planning service as fundamental to the success of the Council’s ambitions for the District by delivering on priorities set in the Council’s Corporate Plan 2024-2028.

It is an exciting time to join us as we have recently transitioned back into the Council from Publica and we are currently updating our Local Plan which will be going out to consult on its Regulation 19 Publication version later this year. We are also developing a Framework Town Centre Masterplan and SPD, processing applications to deliver 2,200 new and affordable homes on the edge of Cirencester and are implementing the requirements of Biodiversity Net Gain.
