Cotswold Beechwoods Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace Fund

The council has received financial contributions from planning applicants to deliver the Cotswold Beechwoods Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Recreation Mitigation Strategy. The off-site elements of these contributions have been used to set up the Cotswold District Council Cotswold Beechwoods Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace Fund.

The aim of the fund is to provide financial support to external organisations and the council itself for projects which deliver the “Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace” (SANG) parts of the Mitigation Strategy. Organisations (such as charities, councils and not for profits) are invited to bid for this financial support yearly between 1 March and 31 May.

In addition to this fund, bids are also being sought to the Community Infrastructure Levy to help deliver the Council’s Climate Emergency Strategy 2020 to 2030 and Ecological Emergency Action Plan. Further information can be found on the CIL pages on the website.
