The Level 1 Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) report provides a comprehensive and robust evidence base on flood risk issues. It collates and analyses current and future flood risk from all sources, supporting site selection, the Sequential and Exception Tests, flood risk mapping and guidance for site-specific Flood Risk Assessments including those carried out for the SFRA Level 2.
The Level 2 Strategic Flood Risk Assessment provides a detailed assessment of proposed development sites identified as being at risk of flooding through the Level 1 SFRA. It considers flood risk from all sources, the impacts of climate change, opportunities for mitigation and the requirements of the Exception Test, helping to determine whether sites can be developed safely and informing decisions on site allocations within the Local Plan.
The Water Cycle Study assesses the capacity of water resources, water supply, wastewater infrastructure and the water environment to accommodate the growth proposed in the emerging Local Plan. It considers the implications of development for water supply, wastewater treatment, water quality, flood risk and environmentally sensitive sites, and identifies measures and infrastructure requirements necessary to support sustainable growth while protecting the water environment.
